The Dan Swafford Memorial Fund

In memory of Mr. Dan Swafford and his lifetime of commitment to agricultural education.

On behalf of the Virginia FFA, the VAAE, and the Appalachian Area, we would like to establish a legacy fund in memory of Jerry “Dan” Swafford.  Dan taught agricultural education for 35 years in Virginia and five years in Missouri.

Dan supported the Virginia FFA in various capacities.  He served as the coordinator of the Virginia agriscience program and was a member of the National FFA agriscience fair committee.   Dan transported materials for the state FFA convention, ran the FFA Alumni store, and coordinated competitions on the federation, area, and state levels, including events at the State Fair of Virginia.  

Dan served in the United State Army Reserves and had advanced to the rank of Major before he retired. 

We will miss Dan and his dedication to serve.  To recognize the countless acts of professional curiosity and life of dedication to agricultural education, we would like your help in establishing a “ Leave a Legacy” fund in memory of Dan.   This fund will allow future generations to learn about the good deeds and generosity of a colleague who wanted to be remembered as a “Good Guy.”
